The animation and visuals were pretty good, especially the character designs and the crazy expressions on some of these. Aside from that, the rest was a sort of a miss.

The dialogue was atrocious for a few reasons. The first was the sound recording. I understand that you guys are still working on getting better equipment, but some of the voices were so different and lacked a consistency in quality which was hard to ignore. The second was the writing. I know they're a crew of talking babies and they all have to have their clashing personalities, but half the shit they said was painfully corny and pointless in a bad way. The fire/giant hornet timeout bit made me cringe, so did the lock cutting. Also kinda disappointed that we didn't get to see them trip balls on the sodar.

I'll still be watching for episode 2.

Oh I believe it

Well played. If anyone else really expected anything more than this, then damn. The credits were a nice touch.

Kind of Lame

Just another stick figure flash with sub par animation and story design. Except when the stick was just flipping over blocks at light speed or occasionally bent his knees, he barely moved at all.

It was cool how you timed a lot of the animation to music but at times the progression seemed choked by the slowed down parts of the song. Also, having sound effects would've made this much better. 3/5

Awsome Idea, Blown to Bits

First off this was a truly great idea for a side scrolling shooter featuring the single greatest action star of all time. It's great how you had goofy cornball explanations of all the movies and all the music to go with them too.

Unfortunately your execution was completely off. I sort of didn't mind the graphics too much in the house and Commando level, but Mars looked like Total Shit. These levels looked like they were done in 5 minutes or less with about the same amount of time being put into the physical mapping.

Usually I wouldn't mind a terrible looking game if it had awesome gameplay, but your game does not have awesome gameplay. The movement is stiff as hell when running, jumping, landing, shooting, whatever. When you get hit by bullets you get stunned and can't shoot, which is terrible since it's impossible for the enemy to miss your giant head.

Also, why would the gun overheat AND need reloading? Haven't you ever played shooter games that did this and piss you off and make you not want to play it anymore? Have you ever seen Arnold even reload his gun that often in his movies?

Like I said, the idea is cool. The way your missions are given is creative and hilarious. Everything else needs redone. Just focus more on enjoyable gameplay that would actually make sense and be fun to play. Also consider getting a more talented artist to do justice to those brilliant movie sets.

Sweet, but...

This was kind of missing a couple of things. The very first one that bugged me was the lack of decent death animations for the enemies. If I don't see that little bug things explode and leave a giant mess, then what was the point of shooting? Another is more diverse/larger environments (but I understand if you were trying to keep the file size down).

The voice acting was funny (in a good way) and the sounds and everything else seemed alright. Just make the violence a bit more graphic and try to make the maps seem less planar.

We wanna GORE in FOS!
:D
But the sponsor not.
hehehe. THat's how they liked for their young audience.
Anyway...don't worry: newcoming title will have gore!

Good try sorta not really

The idea for the gameplay is interesting but it's still very boring. Honestly, if all my moves were going to be scripted like that, I would expect some stellar animation and camera angles and stuff that makes it look like an interactive movie of some kind.

Instead the animation is extremely basic and stiff as all hell. Even with the animation being so slow and uneventful, you'd think then to focus on at least making the drawings pretty detailed and worth looking at. But the drawings are also very terribly simple and limited. Look at what you did with the sheriff's face! You only used 2 freaking colors (red and black) and it looks like you drew it using the strait line tool.

This had a lot more potential to be something cool, but you saw the need to half ass almost every aspect of the game (the music was kinda alright though).

Alright

It was a little too soft for my taste but still well composed. I liked the ending the most (last 25 seconds). Cool intro too now that it played back around. 4/5

This is cool

Flawless looping and a very unique sound. Liked all of the instrumentals too.

Mesosade responds:

Thanks :D

Good job

I liked it. Cool choice of sounds and excellent composition.

Fantastic

The composition and creativity of this epic microbial battle is amazing. I really dig the fine details of the small scale stuff and the depth of everything. Lighting/coloring on weapon blasts/energy lines also work really well. FP material for sure, just try to have more fun next time lol

AssKiller responds:

haha i think my comment came out wrong. What i really meant was that i had tons of fun working on that stuff !

Sweet

I liked your rant and your art. It's art, but not in some bullshit universally defined way. I, too, love contour and your lines are seriously clean and awesome. Makes me want to draw more right now

This thing is pro

This is a really cool and flexible concept for a game creature. I really want to see this game now.
